PMFW 2026:
MODEST FASHION TRENDS
Richly adorned fabrics, flowing silhouettes, and elaborate ruffles—the modest fashion trends from the recently concluded Paris Modest Fashion Week, held from April 16 to 18, 2026, at the Hôtel Le Marois in Paris, present themselves as feminine, confident, and shaped by cultural influences. Reimagined looks elevate the concept of covered fashion to an innovative new level.
The Spanish designer brand TAMARA PRESS, for example, combines spirited flamenco and matador-inspired styles with classic garçonne cool in its designs. Classic shirts, sleek bolero-style jackets, blazers and slim-fit trousers are paired with elaborate mermaid dresses and corsets. Voluminous dresses with hoop skirts round off the range. Black and white looks dominate throughout, as do large appliqué flowers, rhinestones and eye-catching flounces.

Tradition also plays a role at the Nigerian fashion house FLAUNT ARCHIVE, which specialises in capes and ankle-length dresses. As a nod to their homeland, the collection features wooden chain straps that lend the elegant dresses a rustic touch. Raffia inserts at the hems also evoke a sense of naturalness and traditional craftsmanship.

MURADYM from Kazakhstan combines Russian influences with Asian and Chinese elements in its collection. Characteristic features include tailored silhouettes, traditional drawstring fastenings and feminine floral patterns. Formal capes alternate with softly flowing kimonos. Playful volumes are evident in skirts and dresses. A highlight is the combination of long braided hairstyles, interwoven with silver chains and pendants, which make further cultural statements.

The Russian designer label ARSUMERZAEVA promotes a distinctly self-assured image of women in its designs. Sharp cuts and silhouettes that play on masculine influences set the tone. Dark shades and signature details such as classic epaulettes and rows of buttons complement the looks centred around long coats, capes and suit styles. Finely crafted flounces and drawstring fastenings skilfully soften the look, whilst silky, flowing fabrics provide contrast.

In comparison, the Australian brand LAMODESA, the Turkish brand GARZIA and the US design house SUMMER EVENINGS are venturing into even more feminine, sporty territory with their collections. The dresses have a very clean cut, some with a low-set waist. Softly draping and silky, flowing fabrics, sometimes featuring a soft wrap-around or layering look, are characteristic.
