PITTI UOMO TREND OVERVIEW
WINTER 2024
The 105th Pitti Uomo took place in Florence from January 9 to 12, 2024. We kept an eye out for the menswear trends of Pitti people and guest designers and offer a brief overview of the most striking fashion developments at the trade fair.
ELEGANT TONE-IN-TONE-COMPOSITIONS
Whether warm natural tones or sophisticated black – tonal all-over looks focus on the cut, silhouette and material. The calm overall impression conveys special elegance and luxury. Clever layering reinforces the elite statement. Volume and width bring casualness into play.
SHINY SURFACES
Velvet, silk and satin are used for particularly elegant, shiny surface effects. As a highlight, these skillfully set contrasts to emphatically woolly, cosy and soft materials, which are also indispensable for the new menswear looks. Wide silhouettes combined with a soft sheen create emphatically flowing looks.
WIDE SILHOUETTES
More width and volume are particularly noticeable in the silhouettes of pants. The variations range from a tapered leg to a straight and wide leg. Pleats in the trouser details further emphasize the voluminous look. At the same time, long coats and knitwear also play with volume. Flowing materials add a little extra movement to the silhouettes.
ADVENTURE STYLES
Outdoor, climbing and adventure are themes that drive menswear in the long term. Cargo pants, chunky knit, wool, corduroy, check and camouflage patterns create a rugged, masculine look that picks up on sporty elements such as snap hooks and eyelets in the details. Ethno prints and combat influences are also incorporated. Technical materials convey a functional character.
NOT TO FORGET… THE DETAILS
The menswear trends attract attention with numerous details, sometimes with a touch of humor. The spectrum ranges from cord belts and pins on coats to cute animal motifs on knitted sweaters, plastic bags and mix & match looks.
