Mēru

The Dubai based brand was founded by Mehru Khan, a fashion designer with Pakistani roots. Her aim is to create sustainable timeless business fashion with practical designs for women. The silhouettes and designs are inspired by the South Asian clothing culture: light layerings, versatile combinations and effortless models that exist across seasons and are independent of rapid trend developments. The main focus of Mēru is on the selection of durable garments especially natural and hand loomed fibers.

Through their sourcing initiatives and in partnership with selected NGOs, they provide economic opportunities to women in rural parts of Pakistan who keep their waning craft alive.

They scour for repurposed luxury fabrics, heirloom saris and recycled garments to produce one of a kind pieces. To make production valuable and sustainable they work with local partners and small scale operations that help them reduce surplus and waste through producing limited quantities.
